Traditionally, a steeple is the external sign identifying a building as a church; inside, church members would be familiar with what's located where. Zurich Seefeld's Catholic Erlöserkirche opens it doors to the wider local population who embrace it as "theirs", using the church as a community meeting place for various non-secular social events. This is why it had an existing internal building signage system. That system had lost its visual coherence, character and appeal, so we provided a gentle renovation, updating the colors and material treatments and redefining signage positions, as well as placing the church's name in metal letters at street level beside the entrance for the community.
